Our team
Kroy Ryder (DipHe)
Let me introduce myself I'm Kroy an openly Autistic counsellor & I work with people who are neurotypical as well as with neurodivergent people. This includes but is not limited to Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). You may have a diagnosis, or you may just want to explore the possibility of being neurodivergent.
Bright lights or noises can seem overwhelming stressful or uncomfortable
Anxious or upset with unfamiliar situations
Thinking the same thing over and over
Hobbies seem like an obessesion
Being Autistic and having ADHD (AuDHD) myself benefits neurodiverse clients greatly as I understand the unique processing ways and needs of such clients and can tailor the sessions to suit your individual needs, (including sensory issues).
As you are reading this, I understand that you are thinking about seeing a counsellor as everyone, at some point, faces mental well-being challenges. Talking to a counsellor and having someone listen to you without judgment in a safe confidential space can aid you in taking the necessary steps to change. I will work with you to find the best possible solutions and/or answers. Doing this in a way that’s tailored to you.
I also specialise in counselling regarding gender diversity and sexuality (LGBTQIA+) including but not limited to non-binary, gender-diverse and transgender issues.
I work in an integrative way which includes creative therapies and Walk And Talk Therapy when the inside doesn’t suit your needs.
Being outside in nature can have a beneficial effect on your mental health as well as on your physical health. With walk-and-talk therapy we can harness this relaxing quality of nature, integrating it into the counselling process.
I also offer Emailing Counselling for those clients that like complete anonymity.
I have a special interest in mens health as 1 in 8 men in the UK has a common mental health issue and 75% of UK deaths from suicide are men, and is the biggest killer of men under 50. The damaging stigma around mental health affects men disproportionately along with social stigma, gender roles and expectations. It is important if you are feeling:
Overwhelmed
Feeling stressed by work
Family Life getting to much
Partner Issues
Money issues
To reach out with no pressure or expectations.
Speaking to a counsellor can be a transformative experience for people and has a positive effect on confidence, resilience, sense of self-worth, family relationships, and friendships.
In a society that tells you to hide your Anxiety reach out and speak up.
In a society that tells you to keep quiet, to just get over your Depression.
In a society that expects you to struggle alone reach out and be heard
I will accept you, your thoughts, feelings, and actions, as you are, without judging you.
Time and time again, the number one most evidenced research about therapy is that it is not the kind of therapy that is the most important factor in improving things, but the relationship, how well you connect together as therapist and client, the ‘fit.
This is why I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation so you can sound out if our fit would be right, there is no obligation to set up more sessions, we can take it at your pace. The frequency and duration of sessions are something we can tailor together.
Ryan Ryder (DipHe)
Hi, my name is Ryan, and I am a Pluralistic counsellor. This may not mean much to you at this point but hopefully the rest of this profile will help fill in the blanks. I have faced my own mental health challenges through being a music teacher for 41 years and also have had to navigate finding out that my partner was Autistic, ADHD and Dyslexic later in their life which was not easy for either of us.
Being a partner or loved one of a neurodiverse person can bring about challenges these include but are not limited to:
Saying the wrong things
Not being able to go to busy public places
Difficulties with foods, including actually shopping due to the sensory issues
As a Pluralistic counseller, I bring together different approaches to therapy, considering a person as a whole and providing counselling which is tailored to suit your individual needs and circumstances, on a short or long-term basis. As a music teacher, I like to bring in the use of Music Therapy utilising manily string instruments such as the violin, or double bass.
Many people including myself will experience emotional difficulties at some point in their lives including Depression, Anxiety, Family Issues, Relationships and Work Pressure and talking through these issues can help. Whatever the issues you are facing, taking the first step can be the hardest.
I also specialise in Mens mental Health that can include:
Being overwhelmed
Feeling stressed at work
Family Issues
Partner Issues
My practice is open to all and welcomes people from all walks of life including (LGBTQIA+).
I also specialise in counselling the mental health of Teachers including retired teachers as I fully understand the stresses put on us and the affect this can have on family life and our own mental health
I am passionate about helping my clients to live life with Confidence and Authenticity. The aim is to help you deepen your understanding of yourself so that you can begin to make positive, and meaningful, changes to your life. That's why each session is tailored to you needs.
It was nice chatting and I Look forward to hearing from you
