“A Mentor Walks Alongside You to Show You What You Can Do”
Are you struggling to find help from someone like you, a person who really understands what it’s like to be in your shoes. Maybe you struggle with sensory issues, including things like finding the classroom too noisy, or too bright. Does the ticking of the clock make you lose concentration, do outside noises distract you? If so then you are just like me. I struggled through all formats of education even the DSA couldn’t supply me with the support I needed. This is why I started my own mentoring company so I can really support people like me who are experiencing things that neurotypicals just don’t understand.
A mentoring session will last about 60 minutes and is not counselling but rather an opportunity to discuss what’s been happening for you within high school, college or even university and to get feedback and helpful tips. Mentoring aims to build confidence and relationships and helps to develop resilience and character rather than specific academic skills.
